New Primero Poste, petrified Petrovich pretender :-P
New Was there a God?
Well.....if you have to look here to find out --->

Guess we can see where the trouble started.
New There is a God
but his "wrath" has been on hold for almost 2000 years. The evil people who deserve it are getting off scott-free for now, but payback is going to be very very bad for them when they learn that God was keeping score. ;)

New Wrath on hold?
Wait a minute: are you saying there isn't enough pain in the world?

Whether God exists or not, letting Him worry about whether evil people suffer enough is probably a good idea.

Nobody ever gets away with anything. Every morning when Bill Gates wakes up, he has Bill Gates in his bed. He doesn't have enough money to make up for that, poor guy.

- Pat McCurdy
New Oh there is pain and suffering in the world
just that the Evil people aren't being punished enough, and the good people are the ones being punished by the Evil people. Bullies seem to get places in the world, and Nice People finish last or end up in poverty, mental health hospitals, or dead-end jobs. The Meek will inherit the Earth, but the strong will ruin it before that happens. We can only hope that when God creates a new Earth that it will be better than the current one.

New If that's divine wrath, what's it good for?
Yes, evil people are punished for their evil by the very fabric of reality.
But they never learn anything from it. That's why they go on being evil. They simply don't associate cause with effect. Example: Microsoft, getting ganged up on by everyone and his lawyer, and the MS defenders who can't understand why.

I read the book of Proverbs several times, and I was struck by this thought, not spelled out in as many words, but implicit as an assumption throughout the whole thing: that wickedness is a form of stupidity. It certainly does fit the observed facts of human nature. The phrase "moral imbecile" comes to mind when I'm confronted with certain types.

Our bureaucracy and our laws have turned the world into a clean, safe work camp. We are raising a nation of slaves.

New Since when does it have to be good for anything?
Some things just are the way they are.
