Welcome to IWETHEY!

New I'm still lost
That was the only meaning of HUD that I knew, and I still don't know what HUD.IWeThey would look like. Or are Karsten and I being entirely too literal because you didn't include the smiley the first time?

New I think I know what Jason means
Sort of an "at a glance" type thing, with current hot threads, longest thread, threads with recent replies, etc etc.

New Re: I think I know what Jason means
Exactly!

That's what I'm asking, I guess, is what kind of stats would you guys want to be able to see at a glance:

* Top <n> Posters
* New Members (w/i last <n> days)
* Hot Topics (topics that have more then <n> replies)
* Dying Topics (topics that's last reply is more then <n> days old)
* New Topics (topics posted within the last <n> minutes)

etc...

New Top posters
...be nice if you could divide that into top posters (a) all time; (b) this month; (c) this week.... or ...whatever arbitrary time slice you wish to make (like top poster in the last 13.6 days).

And as long as we're collecting post stats, how about (a) total stats on number of url's posted; (b) average of most/least words per post; (c) most 'responded to' poster; (d) poster with the most spelling errors. :-)
New And for grins...
...how about the poster with the largest vocabulary. :-)
New But we already know who that is
Christian Conrad.

Cheers,
Ben

New Since you seem to be offering ...
One huge thing I would like is from the user page, a list of recent posts. Yes, just like the Slashdot user page.

Wait, I think I just coined a new truism. We all know any app will eventually expand until it can do email. Maybe every forum app will eventually expand until it's reinvented Slashdot.

Ooh, and on the user page maybe forum participation stats. ie: This user has posted 72 times in Politics, 19 times in Flame On, and 0 in Flame Off. And while I'm at it, since it would only be a matter of adding one more term to the WHERE clause, whatever stats you compile board-wide (top posters, hot topics, etc.) you can also do them on a per-forum basis.

Okay, let me sum up:

1) On the user page, last X posts.

2) Whatever stats you decide to do board-wide, also do them on a per-forum basis.

New Well...
Honestly, I think that's out of scope of my efforts. Something like that should fall back into the realm of zIWT, and I'm not completely comfortable with getting in and messing with Zope.

My efforts would be a single page that gives you "at a glance" details into zIWT, with all links just coming back into zIWT. If I start doing anything more then that, then you're really looking at redoing alot of what zIWT is. And, I'm not sure I have the time for that, personally. :)

I'm pondering a pluggable, customizable interface so you guys can login to the "portal" and then pick what views you want to see on your page, and where they'll be placed. But, even then, that's probably v.02 of the portal.

But, I agree, I would love to see those stats as well. I'd love to see the user profile page working here.

Any other Zopers out there? Anyone? Buehler? Buehler?

But I figured hey, someones' taking requests, might as well speak up.

New Anything linked to by zIWT...
... should be encompassed in the Zope source code, unless it's a fully functional external thing, like the HUD, twikIWETHEY, etc.

Things like user stats would preferably be written in Zope, as would the search function you mentioned.

Not to mention half of the search stuff is already done in Zope (just hidden).
