New Iraq agrees to weapons inspections
At least that's what [link|http://www.cnn.com/2002/WORLD/meast/09/16/iraq.un.letter/index.html|Annan says]. Not that this will necessarily change the arguments here or elsewhere.
New Re: Puts Powell in a tough spot ...

He has to now explain to the world why the weapons inspectors really don't count & never did.

The Iraq agenda was set a long time ago & 9/11 delayed it but gave Bush greater ammunition for
why US intended provoking a war with Iraq.

From Iraq perspective, they have let the trojans in the door as an act of desparation & in the hope
they can delay the inevitable.

Cheers

Doug
New Don't forget the sympathy.

There's more, too. The sympathy from the other peoples. Even if they don't like Iraq, they will hate the US more if it moves against Iraq when Iraq was doing everything the UN wanted.

Politics and PR.
New The headline you won't see on CNN
Fark is running this story with the headline;

"Iraq unconditionally allows inspectors, Bush craps pants".

I think that says it all.
"Logic is a wonderful thing but doesn't always beat actual thought."
-Terry Pratchett
New Re: The predicatble thing about that incident

was that no one standing near Bush at the time noticed any difference in the air - seems that the aromatic quality of the air both before & after, didn't actually change much.

Hmmm - hope that won't be to complicated for Mr M to grasp (grin).
