OK, I admit it. Not only is the interior of my house a bachelor mess (the last person I had in my house just said "Oh. My. God."), but the shrubbery some former owner planted was damn stupid in its extent and I'm in the process of chopping lots of it down now (particularly the damn tree between the walk from the driveway to my front door.)

But I went out earlier this morning and posted my flag in the bracket in front of my garage. My house, my life, my world may be a mess. In the words of Lee Greenwood,

My father served in the army 1958-1960, and I have other relatives in the armed forces. I don't own any weapons (I don't think I even have a baseball bat, though I do have a cane dating from my 1984 back operation), but God and/or Allah knows, try to hijack a bus/plane/boat I'm on, I'll volunteer to be first in line to whack'em with whatever I have.
