Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Printing money is just another accounting trick.
It's that sort of thing got us into this mess in the first place.

Maybe it's time to try the gold standard again. Or barter. Awkward but upfront.

Everything's a mystery until you figure out how it works.

You really want your medium of exchange to be constantly devaluing, but slowly.

Devaluing you ask?

Why of course! Because if it is increasing in value then your medium of exchange starts to become a plausible investment, which gets in the way of exchanging it.

OK, so why slowly?

Well to be useful as a medium of exchange, its value has to be sticky enough that people keep a decent sense of what various amounts of money mean in real terms.

Ben

New Adiabatic Change - Economics as Thermodynamics
Just a nutball idea I had. So what is economic entropy? Free markets. The heat death is bartering on the nearest dusty corner.

New The heat-death of economics...
to my mind would be the point where the transaction overhead of keeping track of ownership exceeds the economic benefit of the same.

My belief is that this happens a lot with copyrights, see open source for details. :-)

Ben
