That's the problem. Skill, and its twin brother, excellence, are the enemy of Management. Skill COSTS. MONEY. And it is not as easy to find. Management wants nothing but interchangeable parts. "Give me a hard time, and yer outta here." "Your kind is a dime-a-dozen." (Corollary: "My kind is irreplaceable!") So, instead of hiring skill, Management hires least-common-denominator volume. And we get...what we got!
