New Started home stick welding
Stick welding burns through stuff. Really easy. I don't care. Nuts and bolts don't care if there's ugly slag around. Or the corners are burnt off.

I started with nuts and bolts onto thin metal. Okay got that. And then I grabbed the big stick and cranked up as high as it could go on my 220 line.

And welded my bench vise to some really thick steel plate. That's the start of my welding table. It will never move again.
New Good, good.
(I think I've mentioned before that) I almost burned our house down when I was a kid playing with a solid oxygen" torch when I was in high school. (It didn't seem to be working, so I opened up the solid oxygen compartment and the "burning" oxygen pellet rolled out onto some carpeting near by...)

Hot things are hot!! And can burn other things!!!

We recently got one of these things at work. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, but that's my kind of welding these days - prepare the parts, mount them in the machine, and push the button on the screen. (We mainly use it for custom high purity gas lines for new equipment, rather than calling in a contractor to make them on-site.)

Good luck!

Best wishes,
Scott.
