Damn it.
I told M that I could not start building the kitchen back until she chose the sink. I was not going to choose it. I had an idea of what I wanted. I want something really big and deep. I don't want a split center sink, I want a wide and deep sink.
M prefers a double sink.
M has a goal of putting this thing in the corner plus using space to the left which leads to a pathway.
Our current sink size might be able to do that.
I visit the Habitat for Humanity store. They have a goal of helping people build houses, not to make money. I go to their sink section.
I see an enormous cast iron sink. It's a double but it is not even. The left hand side is smaller and shallower. The right hand side is huge. It's got a great faucet built in as well as a hose. It's got connecting flexible pipes underneath. It's 30 bucks!
I want it. I don't tell her. I simply bring her to the store and let her choose whatever she wants. She wants that sink. Perfect.
It's got a couple of dings I will need to refinish. I have no idea how. Time to start looking.
I can't lift this thing. I'm 155 lb of pure muscle. I can lift my 80 lb plant bins. I can't lift this thing. It's currently in the back of the car. It took two big strong men to put it in.
I have to build a structure around it to protect it to be able to move it. I will put a secure cushioned square frame around it. I have a lot of wood. I'm not ready to do that with steel yet.
I then have to get it jacked down onto some wheels. Then I have to set up my winch to lift it up to my balcony. At that point I have to swing it over and get it on some more wheels.
Let the games begin.
Oh, and it can't possibly fit as a corner sink and make use of any of the space. It's much much wider than my current sink. This will be interesting.
