Teach the student as the student needs to be taught
Some people can be reasoned with. Some people can be appealed to via empathy. These people are neither. These people learn through suffering and fear of suffering. Make them fear! Make them suffer! Educate them. And enjoy some schadenfreude in the process. It's the only way they'll learn. Touch a hot stove method. Klepper explains it well.
