New On the other hand, we have Belle
She's amazing. She explains the world from the rancher viewpoint. She's sweet and she's kind and she's never insulting. She always ends with: It's just a thought

As if she's used to arguing with idiots and she knows that they discount 99% of what that she says and she always ends with the possibility that she's full of shit. Just to keep them happy in their default sexist demeaning of women who talk.

And her syrupy sweet Southern accent is wonderful. I find myself speaking in it by default after listening to her for a bit.

https://youtu.be/xRSIgRNhkcQ?si=s7BH17Iet02EBeF-

She rarely goes up more than 6 minutes. She can't be getting paid. She's doing because she believes in it.
New She inherited both the ending and the "Howdy there, Internet people" greeting...
...from (I assume) her husband, Beau, who presented the channel -- which used to be called "Beau of the 5th Brigade" (or "5th Column"?) -- for years until last summer / autumn some time. Had a burnout, which feels understandable given the subject matter. Though I suspect he still does much of the research and writing. He also had the same unflappable down-to-earth calm and friendly tone.

I'm not so sure about how much of their viewpoint is "rancher", though: At least he has a background as a writer or reporter in (national?) mainstream media, I think somewhere up Northeast -- he talked (or wrote somewhere?) about how he'd adopted a "standard" accent to conceal his "redneck" origins.

This seems to be the [EDIT]second-[\EDIT]last video he presented (at least, the [EDIT]second-[\EDIT]last that's still listed): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OP6VJb2Snzg . Posted eight months ago. [EDIT] Oops, no, this one is a little later: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWyPPw6vv8M . His farewell to the viewers. (The one thing that drove me nuts about him was the T-shirts he wore, often with funny political slogans on them -- but he usually stood so you couldn't see the punchline. Only sometimes, when he rocked back on his feet a bit, could you catch what was below his upper chest. In my more conspiracy-theoretical moments I still sometimes wonder if he did it on purpose. Sure worked as an incentive to keep watching, "Will I catch the whole shirt this time". Probably not, though.) [\EDIT]

Not that I think "Beau" and "Belle" are their real names, at least not both; feels like a little too much of a coincidence.
