New When did one-letter domain names become acceptable?
I remember in the before times that you couldn't do a one-letter domain. Now Xitter has one. Are there others? [checking ...] Well, a through e don't exist, so I imagine if they were available generally someone would have them.

So who did Leon have to blow to get x.com routed?

New Shut down in 1993
x.com was registered before that and was grandfathered. This was a transfer from whomever controlled it up to now.

Single letter domains are possible again under .org, but x.org is already taken
