I love these things.

Little magnetically attached button. You can tap it for a click, a double click, spin Left, spin right.
Has a couple different methods of programming it, but basically it's via a bunch of trigger mechanisms that then overlap. I found the best way to do it is to create a whole bunch of shortcuts you can trigger via your control pad interactively on the phone and then integrate them in the decisions of the triggers.
So I got a bunch of bulbs that can handle multiple colors and levels. And I've got additional fixed LEDs that I want by my cutting board and by my sink for cleanup, etc.
All together it's about a dozen smart bulbs and dumb fixtures and switches just for off and on and that doesn't include brightness or color. I could daisy chain switches via programming which was an acceptable short-term fix but not anymore.
Tap the button on wall at edge of room that is reachable both from the kitchen sink and from the hallway. It's a reach from the sink though, there will be more buttons.
If the primary kitchen corner Smart bulb is already on, turn off the kitchen light and all associated smart bulbs upstairs and the various harsh bright LEDs off
If the primary kitchen corner smart bulb is off:
Initiate the multiple smart bulbs to soft 2700° 50% brightness.
Double tap the button: Toggle the bright lights everywhere for look on the floor level brightness.
Spin knob to right, I.e: turn up. This is typically done in quarter turns, there is a bit of clicky resistance but not much.
This is a step-by-step process. If the kitchen corner light is off, turn it on to the lowest setting of whatever the last color was, typically soft 2700° white. Match the glass door bulb and any others I have. I will set them up at various directions and gang them together for additional brightness. I have a bunch to program.
If the soft kitchen light is already on this means I want more light and I probably want to do some work. First level work would be cutting board. Turn on white bar LED focused on cutting board area.
If the cutting board light is turned on and I spin to the right, that means I want some more light for some sink work and some cleanup.
Additional spins will light up additional bars around the room and it'll essentially light up in the direction of the spin.
This will also turn all the smart bulbs to their brightest level for each notch as I do it.
A leftward spin means I want less light. First thing it will do is cut out all bright white LEDs. Then it will notch down the the smart bulbs until they're gone.
All via a single $20 knob. I love these things. This just barely scratches the surface of the level of control I can achieve with the variety of devices I have.
Now let's see if I can do it via voice when my wrist hurts.
