The big cat, Luna, wants my water. Always.
Sometimes he's sneaky about it and will sit next to it and wait for me to walk out of the room and then dive into it and other times he will just say screw it, and do it within inches of me.
It's always got chunks of ice, remember the ice maker story, it's a steel thermos cup, it's tall, and he wants that cold water.
The problem is, other than sharing spit with my cat, it's that he knocks it over. I'm pretty much guaranteed to have a knocked over cup of water when I walk back in the room if I ever leave it available.
At night when I go to bed I stick it in a drawer I can reach or it will end up splashing on my shoulder or face.
He has a running water fountain. He uses it. But he would much rather have icy water.
So I grab a handful of ice from the deep freeze and I toss it into his water fountain and he comes over and he loves it. He drinks and drinks and then looks up and is angry at me.
I glance over it and see the ice is gone.
Maybe room temperature water, but I'm going to assume ever increasingly water as compared to room temperature since that little pump in it will generate some heat.
Would I drink that water? No.
So I got to come up with some type of solution. First of all, insulate the water portion. Wrap that with insulation. Not a problem. But then extract that pump out of that. Uh-oh. I now have my next little water project. I better not screw it up or there will be a flood.
Okay, with my hand warming heater project, the liquid paraffin and mason jar burners just showed up, my temperature test hit 760° and then it went off the meter so I don't know how hot it really got, lots of fire suppression, gear handy and practiced with before doing these tests, fire!, combined with this project, water, flood!, I now have to come up with a wind project. I already have lots of dirt with my plants growing behind me.
