New That is true, but note that . . .
. . LA / Long Beach was already handling about 30% of US import / export container traffic, and the additional traffic was smoothly serviced - the equipment and infrastructure were already adequate for that increase.

Another thing boosting LA / Long Beach traffic is companies trying to get as much goods as possible on the continent before Trump's threatened tariffs kick in.
New Makes sense
I was wandering Amazon, looking at cheap LED lights. I'm used to thinking in terms of dollars per watt and when it got reasonably priced it became watts per dollar.

So I see 120 w quantum board for $55 and that seems quite nice and they give me a coupon off and that's another 15% and then there's another checkbox and they give me another 40% off.

By the time I'm done, it's 22 bucks for the light. It's a third of the price of the competition. I have to buy it.

I assume there are many vendors with lots of stuff sitting in warehouses dying to move it along right now.
New "I'm used to thinking in terms of dollars per watt"
Heh, why does everything you say remind me of Hacker News today? :-)

Saw another story there over the weekend (can't recall for sure if it was recent, could have been years old) about the price of light through history. But there the measure was dollars per lux or lumen or something. IIRC, a hundred or two hundred years ago, you had to work an hour at average wage to be able to afford reading light for ten minutes; now you get a year of light for an hour of work.
