Welcome to IWETHEY!

New That's reductionist.
A lot of people are low information who were told that Biden economy bad, so Trump economy good. Or they didn't even hear that much and were just voting against the bad inflation that has ironically since resolved.

Low information + bad economy isn't the same as everyone likes the fascist. I'm not saying there isn't a problem there (hoo boy) but I don't think it's the majority.

Millennials who wanted houses and Gen Z who were sick of not being able to afford stuff were a common theme we heard from others who had asked their cohort how they were voting and got an unexpected answer in response.

Welcome to Rivendell, Mr. Anderson.
New True but...
...people who voted to the contrary are somewhat outnumbered.
New You are exactly right
I thought old people dying out and young people coming in would push it to the left. I was wrong. I was very wrong.

New people coming in are just as stupid and have the same personality defects as the old people going out.

That leftward push is getting a significant right pushback. There will always be more stupid people than smart people and the stupid people will always resort to violence sooner than the smart people.

We are doomed. I'll probably outlive the final catastrophic societal convulsion but no guarantee.
New You are refusing to acknowledge the hidden racism
Which includes anti-Semitism.

My last name is obviously Jewish. It ends in Berg. Occasionally I get really stupid people who think I'm German.

I've had plenty of interactions over my life that were great up until the point the person learns my name. Then they step back, do a double take, and treat me like shit.

My wife thought I was paranoid. I made it all up. I imagined it. Oh, isn't it cute.

And then she took my name. And then she got it on her name tag because she's a nurse. And her world changed overnight. It was like the watermelon man. People she had known for years started treating her like shit.

The words, dripping with venom: I didn't know you were Jewish!

She learned to hear that without flinching. And then she will go into her extreme knowledge of Catholicism and other religions to put them in their place if required.

That small slice of Americana represents all of it. I'm happy to reduce it to this because it's exactly what it is.
