New It was Hotel California day again in the town of Middlsex...
On the anniversary of the Great Washout of 2023 came the Washout of 2024. All roads in & out of town were gone again :-/

Montpelier escaped this time but some of the places that got hit hard last year got hit again yesterday.
New Ouch. :-/
Meet the new norm, worse than the old Norm.
Regards,
-scott
Welcome to Rivendell, Mr. Anderson.
New I prefer global warming to the old Norm
New Yep, that's the fact now.
Alex

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

-- Isaac Asimov
New Extensive damage again
The northern part of the state took the brunt of Beryl's remnants but the trailing edge of the storm contained intense downpours that hit further south. Large quantities of water over a short period of time do not mix well with hilly terrain. Overall, the damage is not as widespread as last year, but up north and where the downpours hit, it is ugly.

Middlesex was on the southern edge of the storm so we got a bit of both.
