Further review
Nothing else at EB was very compelling, so I got Dungeon Seige (even though it was $10 above the gift card price - I've still got to whine to my parents about that, maybe they'll feel remorseful and send an extra $50 gift card or something.)
Graphics, mouse control, keyboard control are good. It's sort of a "Tomb Raider" done right.
AI for your party sucks dead bunnies and blows the remains out the exhaust of a 1925 Model T. When I finally got members in my group, they lagged behind (badly), it's easy to "lose" people out of visual sight when in combat. That blows and sucks and blows.
Very good on the graphics.
Very straight-line on the plot story, do this, do that, deliver this, tell "x" about "y". Not necessarily a defect (though some would say so) but it *does* get a bit dull following the path and fighting things when you know that's pretty much the only thing you can do.
Current status:
Playing it only when Everquest is down (which, today, is all the time), but seriously considering switching to Morrowind (that's Elder Scrolls III) if EQ remains unavailable too much longer. Dungeon Seige is a decent game, but very linear and (from initial impressions) I'd guess very completable quickly.
Famous last RPG quotes: "I'll just shoot this fireball down the dungeon passageway..."
