I've been wanting to try these for a while. It is incredibly efficient assuming the pan picks up the magnetic waves from the base. The pan ends up being the heating element and there is no concept of heat transfer from a flame or an electric element. It heats up in seconds to high temperature fry level and is it easily controllable.

It came with a pan and will work with all my cast iron cookware and a couple of pots I have. Everything else will not work on it. I will have to pick up induction specific cookware.

This did not amuse M. She did not know about the specific cookware requirements.

When I outfit the downstairs for Airbnb I will put in a dual induction burner and not even bother with a real stovetop.
