hayzeus effin christos! where are they getting them?
https://www.wsj.com/articles/opioid-use-hits-construction-industry-as-overdoses-soar-11609855200so dec 23rd, I reach out a feel a rip across my lower rib section cant get an appt till dec 28th, offers tylenol and ibuprofin and sends me for an xray. Results dont get back till new years eve. Asking for painkillers but the xray was inconclusive. I have a fucking lump the size of my fist at the bottom of my rib cage that screams when I take a deep breath, orders an ultrasound today, just take more ibuprofin I am told. ultrasound tech goes Oh my! rushes out to find radiologist then rushes back to tell me not to lift or move anything on that side until my dr calls me. Fuck me I am ready to go to the street and get some pain killers, apparently it is all over the place out there

Damn straight.
They did everything they could to deny and disguise the negative consequences of the drug they pushed. Specific to the Sacklers, my wife was in medical school when the "pain scale" metric was pushed, which was specifically created by the pharmaceutical industry to push the use of opiates. They were very much aware of how addictive opiates were, and had no problem pushing them on people hoping to create lifetime users.
Fuck them in the ear with a chainsaw.

Radiologists are realists, I've noticed.
Quite a number of years ago, I had a hernia repaired. The procedure was quite straightforward yadda yadda, but before all that I had an ultrasound of the area. This is what confirmed it was a hernia. The ultrasound tech was very concerned and fetched the duty doctor. But I'd had the thing for years by that point so another month was unlikely to kill me (which it didn't).

Yup
When I had shoulder surgery, I got an MRI to confirm the rotator cuff tear. The tech/radiologist said it was both the rotator cuff and the labrum. The doc said no, no one tears both.
After the surgery he said ok, I guess you *can* tear both.
