My local networking folks advise against it and don't want to ask the higher-up networking folks for an exception. Makes sense and I won't push it.

Thanks for the comments here. :-)

I just finished setting up the LG 50 TV/monitor. It seems to work pretty well. There's still some teething issues (deciding how much "scaling" I want Win 10 to do (100% at the moment - it defaulted to 300%!!), adjusting the mouse sensitivity, etc.) but it seems pretty good.

One annoyance is that the 2009-vintage HDMI cable I'm using apparently isn't good enough for 4K at 60Hz - it's running at 29.97 Hz at the moment. :-/ The L390 specs say it (Intel UHD 620) will do 4K at 60 Hz via USB-C but only 30 Hz via HDMI. There's a magical $15 USB-C to HDMI cable at Amazon nthat claims it will do 60 Hz, so I'll give that a go...

Cheers,
Scott.
