Their religious views are more than slightly dated. That the President of the USofA would say that it is "common-sense" that our rights descend from God is equivalent to his stating that that the sun revolves around the Earth. "One nation under Allah." Indeed.
Post #43,754 by ChrisR 6/28/02 10:38:12 AM Reply	The Declaration of Independence is UnConsititutional ...not to mention that it promulgates Creationism - some 100 years prior to Darwin - making the document antiquated and irrelavent for the modern world. BTW, God is mentioned in the first paragraph as well... When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--
