New Large turnouts tend not to favour the incumbent
irrespective of the political flavours in play.

People just don't turn out in droves to get more of the same.

At least, that's what used to be true.

We live in bizarro world now, so who knows?
New Not sure that applies here.
In 2008 there was no incumbent. Moreover, fewer people voting in Indiana means, by definition, fewer Republican votes. I'm not delusional enough to think Trump is not going to carry this state by 10-15 points or more, but if these dyed in the wool, fire breathing MAGAts aren't showing up, maybe Republicans elsewhere won't?

Don't destroy all my pleasant delusions, please, or I'll start talking about the twenty year reign of Boris et al. And will you *please* take Nigel back? What the hell is he doing here anyway? We've got more than our fair share of Nigels.
