Wednesday I woke up, ate breakfast, and checked the weather. It was around 50 degrees, overcast and windy. So i figured that the lines at the early voting site would be small. I was right - it took maybe 6 minutes start to finish.
Satan (impatiently) to Newcomer: The trouble with you Chicago people is, that you think you are the best people down here; whereas you are merely the most numerous. - - - Mark Twain, "Pudd'nhead Wilson's New Calendar" 1897
I think people here are worried about the postal service, because there has been a constant line of people outside our library's election dropbox (usually 2-3 cars long, in the middle of the day, during the week) every time I've passed it since voting started. Slowed a bit because people are taking selfies with their ballots before depositing them.
