New quackopractice
so I make the appt with the shoulder specialist who called me because of a physicians referral.
Over the phone I state I have had xrays and mri done by an in network service that they have access to.
Go to appt.
Told they may need an xray
Mentioned at checking I have had xray and mri at *** facility
nurse asks what happened
"dislocated shoulder 30 years ago, was mounting an over head AC unit in my rv
Pain lasted for a month. Went to regular DR. was given an xray and MRI. Reg Doc stated that my MRI was awful referred to you guys"

PFY shows up next, no mask wants to shake hands, no joy.
He asks how did it happen

He goes ok wait one
an xray tech showed up to take xrays
I mentioned that "Went to regular DR. was given an xray and MRI. Reg Doc stated that my MRI was awful referred to you guys"
she shrugs and states they want an xray
PFY shows up again, well your xray doesnt show anything so it is probably blah, with a steroid shot you should be fine.
I mentioned AGAIN!!! that "Went to regular DR. was given an xray and MRI. Reg Doc stated that my MRI was awful referred to you guys"
He goes oh, disappears for 30 seconds. I KNOW that the access to the pics is about two minutes whether inside the website already or outside the website to navigate to the pics because I also have access. He then shows back and states that I have a small ligament tear and the doc will see me soon.
The Doc shows up and states that most of these heal by themselves so a steroid shot and some time and physical therapy will work.
By then he had time to actually maybe look at the MRI but I dont trust them as far as I can throw them with my bad arm. So took the shot because I am not a fan of surgery anyway, will definitely look for a different ortho cutter if it gets worse and will hand carry the physician report and the actual mri results to the appt of whowever I choose next.

New Getting your MRI films yourself and caring them with you is always a good idea.
I did that back 2008 when I went to see the ortho for my back he ended up cutting on. Saved a lot of time.

The injection has two components. One is an short term (couple of days) anesthetic to calm things down to give the long term steroid a chance to do its work. It can lead to a false sense of improvement.
