They just lost a lawsuit over whether they could make their T&Cs retro-active (they can't) which means people suing over being banned before they changed the T&Cs could cost Patreon a lot of money. There are predictions that Patreon is going to collapse over this.

Whilst I'm not a creator on Patreon I do have some friends who are and only a few months ago started some subscriptions to a couple of them. At least one friend left Patreon a little over a month ago over an entirely different reason (she's now on OnlyCams).
