New worth a try
Those SpaceX astronauts aren't due back for many weeks. Plenty of time for everyone to buy a gorilla suit and learn to ride a horse.

Satan (impatiently) to Newcomer: The trouble with you Chicago people is, that you think you are the best people down here; whereas you are merely the most numerous.

New 👍🏻
New Cut that out
Please? For some reason that icon just is wrong here. I apologize if my internal judgment is annoying to others.
New Thumbs up? Weird.
But OK, I might be inclined to try and remember that.

Not without some specs and a bit of QPQ, though:

1) Be more specific -- where "here"; Oh, Pun, all IWeThey, the WWW...?

2) Quid pro quo -- Why; where did you get this peculiar judgment from?

New I thank you
And I apologize that I have no idea where it comes from. It is an internal, sorry I forget the goddamn word for inability to hold multiple opposing thoughts at the same time.

Let me try this again, doing this via speech on my phone while trying to see my TV and I have lost my glasses.

Okay got my old man glasses.

I have a poorly formed idea of what Iwethey means to me. This includes a moment in time that does not include that icon. Yes I'm an old man who is annoyed by change. I apologize. If you could put up with my annoyances I would appreciate that. I understand that you are not required to do that and this is your choice. So I'd appreciate if you don't.

New Consistency. "An exaggerated consistency is the last refuge of a scoundrel."
As I'm sure nobody said, since that AFAIK is a conflation of two different quotes. (Patriotism, and something about small minds IIRC.)

I put one in some other post yesterday or so, but at least there it was inside the post body; more easily avoidable. Mainly just had to try it out for the novelty.

For those who wonder how to get them, I did it by copy-paste from another tab in my browser, WhatsApp Web.

New "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by ...
little statesmen and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do. He may as well concern himself with his shadow on the wall. Speak what you think now in hard words, and to-morrow speak what to-morrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict every thing you said to-day. — 'Ah, so you shall be sure to be misunderstood.' — Is it so bad, then, to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood.”
--Emerson.

Edit: Decided to add the full quote.

New Indeed! (Emerson was ~my first incentive to memorize Pure-gold), when found glittering.
That "shadow on the wall" is--I have always supposed--a ref. to the Allegory of the Caves, wherein..
'We' sit staring at a wall with ... sometimes moving- pictures displayed. At our backs (all unseen by 'us') is the sunlight(?) streaming through the descending ramp of the long cave-entrance.

Metaphor is Al! ! (~sayeth also Joseph Campbell in that way-back PBS series with Bill Moyers re. "The Power of Myth". Dig it; if you missed it (which I doubt).
Each time I've had the chance to re-view that colloquy, I get more edjumacated--aka: h.t.F. did I miss that little gem?
