That's down in Little Tokyo, near Los Angeles civic center - an area to which I do not go. Looks like they sell a line of clothing, most of which is features a lazy egg named Gudetama.
The Japanese have negligible influence around here now except for cute cartoon characters. Most of Little Tokyo and nearly all sushi bars in LA county are owned and operated by Koreans.
The once famous Japanese markets are just about gone now, and what's left have mostly junk food items for Japanese tourists who want some familiar Japanese culture while they're here.
If you want to cook traditional Japanese here, you go to Korean markets. They have all the real Japanese ingredients and stuff you can't find from any Japanese source. Last time I was in a Japanese market, they had two types of miso, a couple packages each. The Korean markets have at least a dozen types and brands, plus Korean types as well.
There are three Korean markets within 2 miles of me, the nearest Japanese market is about 20 miles away, almost all surface streets to get there, and they don't have anything I'd want. Forget that.
