Hope you & tykes peep the (or peeped) the re-runs/PBS of Vienna Orchestra New Years concert. Even Von Suppé's old warhorse, Light Cavalry Overture is handled with such nuance ... as to be delightful (maybe for first time heard since moi + others did our [uninspired] takes.

Then too [brass alert] the Conductor! stage-Right enters for another piece, playing beautifully the opening fanfare ..and again during performance (turning about, playing to audience) ... kinda reminiscent of the time Souza was auditioning new cornetists.. looking sad, finally grabs horn and plays (..something of variations on Carnival of Venice), as in: play like That. Poor contestant puts horn back in case. This was quite more better a demo though.
