Did you follow the link to his speaking engagement rider?
Makes rock groups look like amateurs. Skim it just to get a sense of the length and breadth of it, but definitely read the whole section about parrots. I'm not kidding. -- Drew |

not yet, will get right on it

other than milk and sugar for his tea and a pepsi its not too demanding
the parrot thing is how he always is. A friendly parrot may be nice but dont go out and buy one. makes sense in a stallman way most of the tech stuff is just that, dont mess with his "branding" "Science is the belief in the ignorance of the experts" – Richard Feynman |

Not demanding, just weirdly specific about unexpected things

us old folks get cranky as we know how we like em
Interesting that he does not like hotels (I am getting the same way but about bedbugs, not giving them my name) and asking strangers to put you up is ok but I suspect my list may be similar. Except for parrots. "Science is the belief in the ignorance of the experts" – Richard Feynman |

^^ This.
It describes Stallman perfectly and always has. Wade. |

Notwithstanding the undeniable abhorrence of his views...
...this is why, when you're an expert on Thing A, you keep yer fuckin' yap shut on matters not pertaining to Thing A. You especially keep it fuckin' shut when Thing B is a very sensitive and difficult topic, about which you feel moved to have a highly contentious opinion which is based on both halves of fuck-all. I wasn't aware of this side of his views until very recently. He should have been fired a lot sooner, tbh. No cite, but it seems that the women on staff at MIT exploited his phobia of plants by having lots of the little green bastards in their offices, because it turns out that he's one creepy-ass motherfucker*. My opinion of Stallman, up to this point, was related in entirety to technology and composed in equal measure of admiration for his uncompromising beliefs re: software licensing, and utter frustration that all the software that came out of this seemed designed to be as big a pain in the arse as possible, en route to delivering its functions. Worked example: GNU Fucking Info. *Check this shiz out: Apparently, one conference had had enough of his walking up to women and propositioning them, handing them these cards etc., and adjusted their Code of Conduct accordingly. So RMS simply asked women to walk across the street from the conference centre, and then he'd get his creep on. Technically correct is the best correct, and all that. |

Gnu Info is an abomination that should have died decades ago.
