taking the I-270 bypass around the west side of town is usually congested. Nothing available on the east side of the river, so unless you REALLY want to take a big detour that will add hours onto your trip, you're pretty much stuck.

New nope, get off of 55, head to Kansas City and pick up the 35
if I was taking Missouri 27 the shorter route sure, but it appears that a lot of that is either flooded or under construction
