So I order usual 6/10ths lb. (my scale view reads in lbs.+tenths, but fishmonger’s side—it turns out reads in lbs.+oz. OK so I convert 16 x 0.6, tell him: try 0.6# on my side; 9.6 oz on yours. He gives me a slab “0.83 #". Re-explaining can only rub his nose in Not grokking arithmetic, even close (any of Two ways.) Hate snark, given such overtones. Mutter Thanks and slink away. Guy likely early 40’s so ..he gots quite more trouble ahead than moi; I can at least have the extra, cold + capers for breakfast. Lose/Win.

{sigh}² ..how about a Superpower with sizable numbers unlikely to know whatcha mean by, “two-squared", say.
