Mid-century minimalist book covers
I well remember this style of cover art from the fifties through at least the early seventies, when I was beginning to accumulate my own library—I probably retain a dozen or twenty exemplary titles in the collection—without hitherto thinking of it as a “school.” One Henning M. Lederer has taken a hundred or so specimens and, so to say, admirably brought them to life. My eldest nephew, a Cambridge-based architect, kindly summoned my attention to these. cordially, |

If a one scanned them all, grokked to modest-Fullness about *half of these? such a one could plot to cubic-closest-packed Best Route towards ... say .. ERASING all knowledge of, all effects of (and best-of-all): the diseased carcass of the Presyudent of the Dismantled dis-USA. All. Gone.! in a puff of premeditated Magic Smoke! I wot.. * Karl Popper! He of the Open Society and Its Enemies ..speaks of Its Friends (no?) in The Logic of Scientific Discovery (not to mention another bitchin title, The Intelligent Woman's Guide to Atomic Radiation ... how I wish I'd had that one way-back. On a number of occasions. Gotta start with these two, to help as place-holders while the lemmings race towards--> myriad Cliffs/next (it's what lemmings Do, I hear.) Thanks!
