Kit is reasonably common now and prices have mostly come down far enough for me.

I remembered to research Linux compatibility, and my current choice is the [link|http://www.3com.com/products/en_US/detail.jsp?tab=features&pathtype=purchase&sku=3CRWE62092A|3COM 3CRWE62092A]. Don't be fooled by the "40-bit WEP" line, kids, a [link|http://www.ht.com.au/Attach/Files/VIS.PDF|PDF] from where I'll probably buy it from says it supports 128. As does [link|http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tourrilhes/Linux/Linux.Wireless.drivers.html#Poldhu|this page] about 802.11b cards under Linux. (Meanwhile, 3Com's page is nicely uninformative as to the difference between this card and the [link|http://www.3com.com/products/en_US/detail.jsp?tab=features&pathtype=purchase&sku=3CRSHPW196|3CRSHPW196]...)

So. Any experiences or stories with the 3CRWE62092A? And which access point should I team it with? I don't need cable, DSL or firewall support in the access point, note, as these are being done or will be done by other boxes. Also note the 3Com access point is out of my price range.

Wade.
