New We will be so sad to see them go . . .
Paul Chabot, a twice failed California Republican Congressional candidate, has started a company, "Conservative Move", to help California Conservatives move to North Texas to be among "like minded people". He intends to operate also in other Blue States.

Some complain this will create "cultural silos". I'm not sure whether this is a good thing or a bad thing.

Of course, this opens the way for future novels and films about young people struggling to escape a Texas Silo and adapt to the outside world.
New I'm tempted to say that's backwards.
What is in desperate short supply in the Red States is, hell, middle of the road types let alone left leaning types. For balance (and sanity) in the Red States it should be "Liberal Move". But, that's not going to happen for a whole host of entirely justifiable reasons.

It's mourning in America again.
New Well, I moved to a solid red state from a red, but purplish, state.
NC to SC, that is. Politics was not involved in the decision.

The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

New It must have been you that made NC purple.
