New So "whois" Wikileaks, anyway?
New Interesting, but not surprising.
That's why the Panama Papers are not on Wilileaks.
Alex

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

-- Isaac Asimov
New Preposterous. The article suggests there's no freedom of speech in Russia.
Kiril Ouspensky was a very good friend of my father's. I hope I can locate the one photograph of him that I can remember. He was sentenced by a court in the USSR to 10 years in Siberia. Remarkably, he survived. His crime? He was convicted of "Claiming there is no freedom of speech in the Soviet Union." He probably got the harshest sentence by saying to the judge at trial, "Comrade Judge. Is the irony of the charge against me lost on you?" His conviction and sentence was the response.

I've seen the end of the road we have embarked upon firsthand.

Social Media is for Sociopaths.
New shrug, the US cannot force those off of the air
always look out for number one and don't step in number two
New I know someone who met Assange years ago.
Her summation of him was "he likes to lie" or something like that. I haven't spoken to her in depth about it, but she's sure he hijacked the Wikileaks name and organisation out from under the other co-founders. And is now using the name for his own benefit. Whatever that is.

Wade.
New Interesting. Thanks.
New Re: his own benefit
Ward off rape charges, for one thing.
