New Bernie dodged a bullet!
https://www.balloon-juice.com/2016/08/18/open-thread-dodged-a-bullet/

NBC sourced their story from the Center for Public Integrity’s “How Bernie Sanders beat the clock — and avoided disclosure”:

… [W]hen federal law required Sanders to reveal, by mid-May, current details of his personal finances, his campaign lawyer asked the Federal Election Commission for a 45-day extension.

Request granted.

On June 30, Sanders’ campaign requested a second 45-day extension, saying the senator had “good cause” to delay because of his “current campaign schedule and officeholder duties.”…

Now that Sanders’ second extension has expired, spokesman Michael Briggs confirmed to the Center for Public Integrity that the senator won’t file a presidential campaign personal financial disclosure after all.

“We were told that since the senator no longer is a candidate there was no requirement to file,” Briggs said.

FEC spokesman Christian Hilland verified that Sanders has not filed a personal financial disclosure. He likewise confirmed that Sanders, who technically ceased to be a presidential candidate when Hillary Clinton secured the Democratic nomination on July 26, is no longer required to file one…

How about that.

Forbes: Trump's Businesses Have A New Profit Center: His Campaign
So far in this election cycle, the campaign of Republican nominee-to-be Donald J. Trump has spent $47 million. And among the biggest vendors to the campaign happens to be one Donald J. Trump.

Companies that Trump owns or controls have charged the campaign for an array of expenses. The biggest line item is air travel — a Trump company called Tag Air, which operates Trump’s aged 757, collected $3.7 million as of the end of March. But the campaign makes its headquarters at Trump Tower ($35,457 a month), and takes meetings downstairs at the Trump Grill. (“The best taco bowls are made in Trump Tower Grill,” Trump boasted last Thursday to mark the Mexican holiday Cinco de Mayo. “I love Hispanics!”) It pays salaries for Trump company employees, puts them up in Trump-owned hotels, and occasionally rents Trump ballrooms for campaign events.

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

New Meh. I'm still waiting for HIllary's speech transcripts.
New Somewhat understandable.
In this election cycle, neither primary candidate has any positive points; all they do is attach the opposition to show they are not "as bad" as their opponents. If either of the primary scum could show that Bernie had a couple hundred thou socked away the screams of "HE CLAIMS TO BE A COMMUNIST, BUT HE'S GOT MONEY!!!" would be deafening.
Trump doesn't show his numbers because it would likely show him to be a liar or a criminal or maybe just a broke scumbag. The alternate rider of the apocalypse doesn't care because she's fucking entitled and that is the end of it.
Don't expect any rational behavior in the near future. "Blessed are those with no expectations, for they shall not be disappointed."
