But what happens when the tire edge does not meet the rim and make a seal? Spray starter fluid into the gap and toss a lit match into it.

Air pressure pop it in place. Your way sounds like it's more fun, but I'd worry about caustic chemicals lingering in the tire. "Religion, n.
