New Does any of the eucalyptus scent stay in the firewood?
Alex

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

-- Isaac Asimov

New Not noticeably - the oil is mostly in the leaves
The eucalyptus horny beetles are already working on the wood. They chew tunnels about 1/2 inch wide under the bark. When you have a pile of freshly cut eucalyptus firewood, you can soon hear them munching away.

When I moved in here, you almost never saw a eucalyptus leaf with bug damage - now it's just like in Australia, you rarely see a leaf that hasn't been munched on. somebody must have brought over a live tree - they were originally all from seed.
     It's a bit noisy around here today. - (Andrew Grygus) - (3)
