Choose Cruz who screws floozies, pooch; loses?
Well, it's the National Enquirer, the reputation for veracity of which is not entirely without blemish—or did I miss the abdication of the English monarch, announced as impending on its front page several times last year?—but they did have the goods on young Johnny Edwards eight years ago, so who is to say whether they might have another scalp to hang in the editorial offices? Charles Pierce suggests that the source of the story is likely a Trump confidante whose name rhymes with Dodger Drone. If this separates the evangelicals from Cruz, the GOP had better brace itself for some industrial-grade convention chicanery (Calvinball rules might be useful) if they still want to deny the Trumpster their nomination, or else get serious about that third-party business. It is very difficult to see how these trends are going to turn out well for them. cordially,

Oh, he won't loose the evangelicals.
All he has to do is say "I believe!" and all is forgiven.
That is, after all, the underlying principle of Christianity. "I have been very bad all my life, but I believe, so I am saved".

Re: Oh, he won't loose the evangelicals.
True, it worked for David Vitter, and it might for Tailgunner Ted. But surely the revelations, if true, will add a few more kilograms to the heavy load the inhumanly unlikeable senator already bears upon his back as he slouches toward his Dominionist kingship (or, I suppose, regency, since only Christ is king to that set).

Whatever - but in any case . . .

So far, no proof and looks like a Trump dirty trick.
Rubio's folks were trying to peddle the rumor before FL primary but it didn't take.
But, no proof now doesn't mean there won't be any later.
Trump is a friend of the National Enquirer CEO David Pecker. Now there's a name for you! :)

Trumps been pushing to have libel laws changed.
It would be delicious if this rumor was shown to be false and that Trump was behind it. The case would be yoooge!
Cheers, Scott. (Who really doesn't care either way. It'll get worse before the fall - we need to steel ourselves.)

Further to the Cuban Mistress Crisis
I am of course attempting to keep my confirmation bias in check, so an asterisk should accompany this interesting information(?)—well, OK, a set of interesting contentions—to the effect that the Enquirer is feeling pretty confident that they're onto the real deal. The linked source is an outfit called "The Conservative Treehouse." I know that the main body of establishment GOP thought, to the extent we can still speak of such a thing, is slowly and with an audible lack of enthusiasm reconciling itself to a tepid endorsement of Senator Slime over the Vulgar Talking Yam, but Cruz is so deeply loathed by so many that I think there must be an influential minority of insider media rainmakers/ratfuckers who would be grimly happy should the charmless Cubano's political career be among the charred corpses to be carried out of the smoking ruins of the Quicken Loans Arena this summer. Cruz glowers at his foes and snarls “You’ve got to ask yourself one question: ‘Do I feel lucky?’ Well, do ya, punks?” They in turn exchange glances and nod their heads emphatically. I tell you, scorpions in a bottle ain't a patch on these guys. gleefully,

Re: The Cuban Mistress Crisis
Wish I could claim entire credit for it, but the praised wordplay appears to have occurred more-or-less spontaneously and simultaneously to hundreds, and I have already spotted senior provenances.

For this senior it was a tense time.
The wife was 6 months pregnant with our first child and full-scale nuclear war was imminent.

Esquire: "Let me be clear: Donald Trump may be a rat, but I have no desire to copulate with him." A church mouse perhaps?
