...to announce you'd put a kid in the world or something. (Thus making the mother withdraw, at least temporarily, from the labour [Heh! ;^] market, y'see?)

Too bad it wasn't -- now I didn't get to point out how you'd also increased the future number of employment-seekers! :-)

I guess I'll eventually be an Uncle, and that's plenty close enough for me. Not there's anything wrong with beaing a Dad, after all, I'm closely related to one ... :-) but, it's not for me.

For some reason some people have been taken aback when I've said there are no kiddies in my future. Can't quite figure this out. The argument was something like 'well if everyone decided to stop having children, the human race would die!' Well duh, but I'm one, not everyone. I mean really, they should be grateful there will be no mini-Johns running around! :-)
