Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Its easy to shine brightly
among a forest of dim bulbs.

Seriously, my experience with tenured faculty while teaching at Univ of Colorado, Denver as Professor Honorarium (Latin for Nightschool Teacher) is that the tenured were what I call "arrogant without cause (AWC)".

So you should do fine. I envy you as I suspect I'd enjoy professorhood full time but I don't have the patience to put up with a PhD program (and the accompanying "know everything about nothing" faculty) in CS.

Good Luck.

Oh yeah - where are you going to do your doc?

New Ph.D school thoughts

I'm currently looking at Colorado School of Mines, as they have a Doctoral program in Computer Science and Mathematics. Plus, they're a lot closer than Boulder or Ft. Collins, at least coming from Littleton.

New Oh yeah
That'll be a nice commute. Should be a decent school I'd guess (for CS? - it is for earth sciences). I did my undergrad at their rival NMT.

Keep us posted
