New Perspective on root-causes of modrin anti-intelligence: New Rules
Andrew O'Hehir, apparently the First-string All-league Halfback at Salon has assembled this sententious sonnet:
Climate deniers and other pimped-out professional skeptics: The paranoid legacy of Nietzsche’s “problem of science”
How a 19th-century thinker's revolutionary insights drive today's climate-denial flacks – and can help beat them
Now I know what you're thinking {creep} ... w.t.f. Time is left--while daily stroking bushel-baskets of smart-watches and automatic plant-waterers--ever to have even skimmed Nietzsche? (let alone Dionysus nor Apollo (except as some rocket-thing..))

But read-on Oh impatiently wary ones; This opus is more than a review of Merchants of Doubt (now playing in LA and (..what's that hotbed of Billionaire Condos right near the water, in Yankee Territory?) He does get to an excerpt, though:
There’s a scene in “Merchants of Doubt” that expresses this contradiction, perhaps without meaning to. In a vintage TV clip, we see legendary ’80s talk-show host Morton Downey Jr. – a Dionysian figure if ever there was one, and the spiritual godfather of Beck and Limbaugh — berating cardiologist and tobacco researcher Stanton Glantz, who was foolhardy enough to go on Downey’s show and talk about the dangers of second-hand smoke. “I’m 55 years old and I smoke four packs of cigarettes a day,” Downey crows, “and I’ll be damned if I don’t look 20 years younger than this guy!” It’s true — he cuts a suave and dapper figure next to the rumpled, balding Glantz, and the studio audience explodes in a joyous Dionysian frenzy: Science is bullshit! Smoking keeps you young! Our fate is in the hands of the gods! It’s also true that Downey died of lung cancer in 2001 (after spending his last years in the Apollonian mode, as a penitent ex-smoker), while Glantz is still with us, writing, doing research and bedeviling the tobacco industry. The lesson might seem obvious – but the facts, as Nietzsche told us long ago, are only part of the story.
This won't be the last attempt (for any of us) to fathom 'root-cause' of the collective--not mere ignorance, but--Ignoring of well, the very mind-desciplines via which 'we' constructed the Modrin Corporate Comfort Factory: all so as to Prove that we Don't Need no Steenkin 'Nature' to tell-us-what-to-do, anymore. {{Yashure, mofo}}
(So we Got/are being Bitten-by: this Disneyland Pure-materialist apparition which has condemned hundreds of millions to lock-step serfdom, most of these under Corporate minions (themselves ..instantly replaceable) by the next more-toadyiing-proficient in status-warz ..than their aging skill-set can counter.

And so it goes.. Miss Kurt and George ... but we'll always have Tom Lehrer to play us out with a rollicking tune [You Know the one.] I believe that one has already been embedded with solar-powered player.. in this and that tombstone of modrin hi-tech $design.

Carrion/pass the Absinthe + a smidgeon of MDMA: functioning minds are losing the race; the proles got the bit in their teeth (and the horse is already sweating dangerously.) Language Murder? ..nay Extinction is in the wind: it no verbs, adjectives (or even nouns.)

Adding this one to file: Best guesses on what everything is Dying-of [aka -for]
(SInce it's always more comfy when you See a little more of the back-story of your probable fate.) Innit?

Bad guy? I hope not. Sorry if I have offended anyone here. Won't happen again.
New Nope. You're always home here. In Florida, well, ... ;-)
New Eye-of-beholder thing, I thought..
In some places--FL seems to be one--'true facts' seems not to be a tautology but a means of describing something like, "facts that fit our political conclusions" ... not like that stand-alone 'fact' word used to mean.

Surely we traditionalists must seem real-Scary to the brave-new wordsmiths who shall be writing all those laws for the next four years. So if the neo-Birchers start-up HUAC again? well, you know.. we'uns of the IGM must surely be: The Enemies of true-Patriotism ..and all that is Wholly.

It's kinda fun bein on the wrong-side of the Red Queen, innit?
..sorta like America : Murica :: Matter : Antimatter.
