They know this, and right accross the river is some cities in Illinois that could have the state of Illinois finance the stadium while the state of Missouri is trying to balance its budget to finance all the highway repairs they are doing. Don't even joke about blowing up the stadium, after 9/11 it is just poor taste to do so. The 36 year old stadium is fine the way it is, the problem is the wealthy owners that want the state and city to foot the bill. I think thatthe Feds should make a law that state and local funds should not be used to build new stadiums, etc. *I am free now, to choose my own destiny.*

Of course, in the case of Houston, and other cities, the voters actually do it to other people. The stadium is footed by a "Hotel and Rental Car tax", most of which is paid for by out-of-towners. I would guess by the polls some newspapers took in Missouri that 60% of the people would be against the new stadium being funded by tax money. If those 60% voted, they would vote the ballot out. *I am free now, to choose my own destiny.*

I think the owners got ticked when someone added to the Stadium Bill that the owners of the team have to pay money if they sell the team or move in 30 years. Also part of the profits goes back to the State. The bill didn't pass as they didn't have time to review it in the previous session. Maybe next session? *I am free now, to choose my own destiny.*
