Welcome to IWETHEY!

New In fact, NO...
He said at this point, stay away from Carb... and don't let FAT get to be to large a percentage of my caloric intake.

I need the carbs to not get Diabetic ketoacidosis, but not a lot.

He said, as long as I feel healthy *and he said no bullish... watch out for things* such as the shakes and collapsing from lack of certain things like vitamins and other vital chemicals and nutrients.

My Doctor is an Osteopathic Sports Medicine Doctor. He it the primary care physician for a *LOT* of athletes here in town (some of the teams here and University teams)... and he can knock you butt down in a heartbeat if needed. So when he says no bullshit... he means *NO BULLSHIT* and will take measures to enure you are doing the right things.

One last thing, he has more letter and crap behind his name than most alphabets.

Congrats on the progress, great job!

You Can Do It!
New Thanks Steve!
You are part of why I'm able to just do it...

Having dinner with and talking to you in December made a *HUGE* impact on me.

It is important to look at things and just to actually talk to you and see how much better you look and feel is just awesome.

I guess I just needed your progress and my Doctor to kick it up a notch.

New Yep, excess carbs are a problem.
Carbs are readily available fuel for the body and fat is concentrated, but not so readily available, fuel for the body. Your body has no problem manufacturing fat from the extra carbs.

The other factor with carbs is the glycemic index. See here:

http://www.health.ha...for_100_foods.htm

Eating low glycemic index food does not stress you body's ability to deal a surge of sugars in the blood.

Of course, any diet always requires protein and minerals so that the body can function and repair itself.

The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.”

New Glad you have someone you trust
Sugar and carbs are generally bad in excess no matter what the source or the person.

I more or less gave up dessert and pop 10 years ago and never looked back. I still eat processed grains to a lesser amount; that's the next frontier for my diet.

Keep it up!
