New Sibs (3) are united in urging statins
...spouse is adamant agin. Further investigation is indicated. At present I'm inclined to see what a diet of couscous, microwaved tofu, dandelion sprouts and distilled soy milk (fuck me!) will produce when the numbers are taken again ninety days from now.

curdlingly,
New Oatmeal is good and quick in the morning.
Pour some rolled oats in a bowl, add a pinch of salt, just cover with cold water. Microwave 1 minute. Remove, stir in 1 heaping spoonful of yogurt. Eat. It's quick, tasty, and oats supposedly help the cholesterol numbers a little bit.

You're a wise man for listening to your spouse. ;-) But see how it goes.

Good luck!

Cheers,
Scott.
New That would have been my suggestion as well.
If you have the time, or a delayed start microwave that can be set up the night before, try steel cut (or Irish) oats. They take a while to cook.

And stay away from sugar in all forms. Scott the Original prodded me at looking at what agave really was, and I've cut it out as well.

Box's aspirin regimen, presumably the recommended 2 baby aspirin before going to bed, is good too.

Of course, you can't beat excercise.
Alex
New Beware the yoghurt, unfortunately.
Most varieties of yoghurt in the supermarket have added sugar.

Wade.

New urge you to look at the arteries
if the crap isn't sticking to the arterial walls at you advanced age, changing your diet is not needed.
