New How's that?
All I see online is how to hook up a GPS receiver to a laptop. Or are you talking about using nearby WIFI hotspots to triangulate?

New Google's got a big map
Along with Verizon, ATt&T, any anyone else who hosts large webs of hot spots.
Both cell providers and large corporations.
And it is updated all the time.

Therefor the NSA has a big map. And they didn't even have to pay for it, at least not much. Just the tech fee for the data handover.

They may not know the exact location, since the ongoing signal strength data isn't continuous, but mere blips can pretty much track all of us due to the number of sensors pretty much anywhere, which then can be used to find the center point during most time periods.
New That's how they track me, is there a way I can track myself?

New I'm not talking about...
WiFi...

WiMAX or Cellular Broadband aka LTE or CDMA.

With my Cell Phone's GPS turned *OFF* I can still get within 20 feet or so of my position using just cellular tower triangulation. And *that is all the closer that we know they can do.

What makes you think they want people to know they can get closer using cell towers than GPS... but GPS is more widely known, so they let that ride.
