New Cylinders? Don't you mean rotors?
And I'm fairly sure all RX7s had two rotors.

well 4 plugs that spark into an unknown until I buy a manual :-)

New 2 plugs per rotor.
I think Static is right that the RX-7 almost always had 2. Unless you wanted a dragster with 4 rotors - http://www.youtube.c...tch?v=EebTCsiP3rs (0:37)

Or 6 - http://www.autoblog....-and-sounds-like/

But, no pistons.

It doesn't have any valves either. :-)

Cheers,
Scott.
New They do double-firing.
I've heard some Japanese conventional engines use two spark plugs per cylinder; this is also possible in Mazda's rotary engine.

Whatever the configuration, enjoy the car! My 924 is lotsa fun.

I'm reconciled to the existence of idiots in the world, but I'm bitterly resentful of whoever it was who first thought to make computer technology available to them.
