New Any idea why this page would consistently crash FF?
Something seems to have changed on this weather radar page a few months ago. Since that apparent change, this page will reliably crash FF on this Toshiba Portege R835 if I let it run more than 12 hours or so (it refreshes itself every 10 minutes or so when the animation is turned off).

Mozilla's crash reporter has sent all the details many times over the last few crashes, so presumably they are aware of the page...

This is on Win7 64-bit (FF is 32-bit, v20.0.1). I'm running Adblock Plus so I don't think its a problematic ad, but I do think it happens when the page updates (but can't be sure). (I haven't noticed it on other systems, but none of the others I use have this OS and are running 24/7.) Yes, I have dozens of other tabs open at the same time, but FF stays up for weeks at a time unless I have that radar page open.

Thanks.

Cheers,
Scott.
New 45 Cookies? Holy crap.
I have ABP also.

45 Cookies, *REALLY*?!

They have *CRAPFULS* of javascript in that page... therein lies your answer.

16 external "3rd party/different domain" Javascript files plus 9 inline javascript statements, some in the body (BAD to inline in the body).

That isn't including the files the jaavscripts force load.

Come on... you really expect something with a bahmillion lines of Javascript to not crash after a long time?

They also have a bahmillion lines of CSS.

They are using OpenGraph, with the Facebook extensions.

They have embedded ActiveX in there.

They are using Tables for layout because it looks like that can't get CSS to work for the tableized data. Makes the Rendering engines slow.

I just found 4 more javascript entries in Tables Cells.

And even more javascript in the Footer. Wow, 11 inline snippets and 15 external files.

Yuck.

Not to mention the bare index file is 2210 lines long and HYARGE.

New I think MM pointed that out a while ago.
Amazing, isn't it?

I wonder how long it will be until the whole Earth has coverage like that. A project like that would employ a few people for a while.... <sigh>

Cheers,
Scott.
New Yep.
I use that as a part of all my flight planning. ;0)
