New Re: Ghost ceiling fan
A couple years ago, before I had my back surgery, we had a fan installed in my wife's study/office. It has a remote switch, like a one button garage door clicker. The fan turns itself on at random times. I don't know if it's power surges or something else can generate a compatible signal, or what. Since it's random, it makes it difficult to analyze. Be happy you have something you can figure out.
New Same here. Just figured it was RFI.

One of our ceiling lights with a radio remote always turns itself on if there has been a power glitch (e.g. lightning), but rarely on other occasions too.

Cheers,
Scott.
