I find it useful.
It was posted on here a while ago when we were having intermittent outages. It's a good indicator of whether a site is not available generally or just from my location. I don't use it often, but when I can't get somewhere that is usually available, it is interesting to know if I am being blocked or the site is down. You may have a better way of determining this. If so, share?

Nah. No magic tricks here.
I always have ~ 50+ tabs open. If one doesn't work, then I figure it's down. If they all don't work, I figure its on my end (or in the path to my DNS).
If it's really mysterious, I would do a tracert. If it's really, really mysterious, I would look at the Internet Traffic Report - http://www.internett....com/namerica.htm Thanks. Cheers, Scott. |
